I'm gonna colour this one later. Drawn in SAI and will eventually be coloured in SAI, as soon as I figure out how to get along with the thing. Updates later
Went to the zoo this week with , and company, and we spent some time observing butterflies, hence the inspiration.
Butterfly To see a butterfly in your dream, denotes your need to settle down. Butterflies also signifies creativity, romance, joy and spirituality. You may be undergoing a transformation into a new way of thinking.[link]
Note how the description does not say the transformation is a positive one.
Also, that is going to be a real head. <3 both of them. XD
*laughs* My goodness, I'll never look at butterflies quite the same way again, I'm afraid. And that's SAI, huh? The line quality looks lovely, but you can get clean crisp pen-style lines out of PS, too... hmm. Might give it a whirl later myself...
The linework on this is just gorgeous, and it's funny - I didn't notice the er, accouterments until a few moments of looking at the piece. The cigarette and the butterfly are so interesting that close to each other, and also the delicacy of the butterflies, wall, dandelions, and against what's a rather disturbing image when you gather up the whole. His hand is so careful, the flick of his fingers near the butterfly, and the fact that they've alighted on his boots, like he's being dutifully careful not to crush one by accident... and yet...
Actually, the weight of the long hair against his arm is really well done, it was one of the first things I noticed.
*grins* Reminds me a bit of a tarot card too. <3 Like you said, transformation is not always positive... heh. Really lovely piece, though.
I am COMPLETELY sold by the quality of your linework! Had to watch you after I saw what you are capable of. Haha and here I just met you by chance too! I hope even though you said you dont use this site too much that you post here often! I want to see more. *is going to completely explore your gallery when I get home from work tonight*

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
